Proposed Boundary Change

In August 2013, Riverhills Elementary School will become a Magnet Elementary School offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and immediately prepare to apply for authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization.  Families wishing to apply for this program at Riverhills will need to submit an application.  Submitting an application for Riverhills does not guarantee admittance to the school.  Students are selected through a lottery system. In addition, the application period opens on December 4 2012, at noon and you can apply online at: http://www.mysdhc.org/choice/

Students who live within the current attendance boundary for Riverhills, (click here to see map of current attendance boundary) will be reassigned as follows:
  • Lewis Elementary School for those students living west of 56th St. and generally east of Del Rey Ct. and north of Sonora Ct.
  • Kimbell Elementary School for those students living west of Del Rey Ct. and south of Sonora Ct.
  • Temple Terrace Elementary for those students living east of 56th St.
This change will not affect students who are already assigned to Lewis, Kimbell and Temple Terrace Elementary Schools. Click here to see which areas will be reaassigned.
  • Students residing within the attendance area shown on the map, who currently attend Riverhills Elementary will automatically be enrolled in their new school (Lewis, Kimbell or Temple Terrace).  Students who wish to apply to attend Riverhills will need to submit an application through the Choice Options application process and may or may not be selected in the lottery system.
  • Students living in the Riverhills boundary who attend an elementary school other than Riverhills will have no change to their current school.
  • Students who attend Riverhills but who do not live within the attendance boundary, may: a) return to his/her assigned school; b) apply through Choice to attend Riverhills or the IB elementary school serving his/her neighborhood; or c) apply through Choice to attend another school that is open for Choice enrollment.
